Ever feel discouraged? We all feel drained and alone at one time or another. It makes us feel spent; like we don't have the energy to take a step forward and are not sure we even want to try. In such times, we can turn to the Bible for guidance and for a "fill-up" of our spiritual tank:
Ps. 55:22: Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
2 Cor. 12:9: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
This quote from evangelist Billy Graham reminds us that when I have my own moments of discouragement or doubt, I am not alone: "The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, 'O God, forgive me,' or 'Help me.'”
With God's help, I pray that today is a great day. It is a day that the Lord has made, so rejoice and be glad in it!
