Take 10 @ 10:00

Services

Sunday - 9:15 AM Sunday School, 10:30 AM Worship Service

Irvington UMC family and friends:

Keep an eye on Facebook and our website as we explore new ways to keep connected! "Take 10 at 10:00!" posts on our Facebook page a couple of times weekly on or before 10:00 am and can be viewed at any time. Look for a video posting, a scripture reading, music from our sanctuary, children and youth messages, or a podcast. Listen, read, and engage with us! We hope you will join us and add your comments.

The Take 10 @ 10:00 schedule is generally as follows:

Tuesday - a "mixed bag" of poems, reflections, or other random thoughts
Wednesday - music from the sanctuary by DJ
Friday - a weekly devotional from Pastor Denise

Make yourself a cup of coffee,  curl up in your favorite chair or on the sofa, and spend a few minutes with us!

We continue this week with our devotional series based on the book Climbing with Abraham by David Ramos. Last week we looked at the relationship between Abraham and Lot and how, when we have relationships with other people, we are responsible to them and them to us. Abraham sought, and relied upon, wisdom and direction from God to deal with the situation with his nephew. _____________________________Week 5: Read Genesis 13:13...

We continue this week with our devotional series based on the book Climbing with Abraham by David Ramos. Last week we learned that Abraham kept making mistakes and kept wandering away from where God wanted him to be. Despite Abraham's shortcomings, God didn't write him off. God was patient with Abraham and kept His promises. From Abraham's story we learned that God will also be patient with us when (not if) we make mistakes. This gives us hope and con...

God has a perspective and a plan for each of us: the question is how we will respond. We were challenged to take Abraham's view and choose to remember that ...

Last week we began a new devotional series based on the book Climbing with Abraham by David Ramos. Last week we learned that just as Abraham's story began before his birth and continued after his death (and continues still today), so our story began before we were born and will continue after we die. _____________________________Week 2: Read Genesis 12:1-9"Chapter 12 officially begins...

We are beginning another series this week: Climbing with Abraham (by David Ramos). What do you know about Abraham? Spend a couple minutes and think about or write down everything you can think of. Guy in the book of Genesis who was called by God? Went through a name change? Had a wife? Was promised a son? Went to Egypt and lied? Took his son up on a mountain to sacrifice him to God? Maybe you haven't heard much of anything about Abraham. Maybe you grew up in ...

If Only .. is No Way to Live

What do you want out of life? Happiness, health, wealth (or at least comfort/security), a loving family, lasting friendships, time for travel, or perhaps all of the above? Where does faith and your relationship with God fit into your desires for life.

It seems that we often live life by the words "if only." If only I were out of school, if only I had that job, if only I were married, if only I could retire, if only . . . ...
